Daytime Moons

The Inspiration for Morning Moon
Early one morning, a few years ago,
we drove down the highway to bring Olivia, our Little Gal,
back home with us to spend a few days in our valley.
Still hanging high above the mountains,
looming large and somewhat out of place
in those daylight hours, was the moon.
Thoughts started forming about what Olivia
and other small children might think
about seeing the moon during daylight hours.
After all, we usually think of the moon
as ruler of the nighttime sky.
Words started forming and
the Morning Moon rhyme was born.
