Little Gal Doll
The Little Gal Doll was designed by the author, Patricia M. Ware, based on the character in the book, Morning Moon.
The body was cut from muslin, then stuffed and painted a flesh color. Dark turquoise was painted on the feet to simulate shoes.
Ears were sewn to the head, and facial features were painted. The body was then sanded and given a coat of varnish.
After a second sanding, red yarn was attached to the head for hair and tied into pigtails. At the forehead, red yarn was looped to make curly bangs.
Bloomers were made to coordinate with the dress. To hold the bloomers in place, elastic was inserted in the waist. In the back, a button and ribbon loop were sewn to secure the dress at the neck.
